Nice Airport to Monaco: every way to get there

Monaco has no airport: most visitors land at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, about thirty kilometres from the Principality. Depending on your budget, luggage and arrival time, you have several options. Here is our comparison.

1. Private driver: direct, no waiting

Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 with a name sign, takes care of your luggage and drops you at your hotel or residence in Monte-Carlo, Fontvieille or La Condamine. Allow about 35 minutes via the motorway or the Basse Corniche. The price is fixed and known in advance, whatever the traffic.

It is the most comfortable option for families, business travellers and late arrivals. Discover our private Nice Airport to Monaco transfer.

2. Taxi

Taxis wait outside the terminals. The journey is direct, but the fare depends on the meter and traffic, and queues can be long at peak times and during major events.

3. Bus and train

Buses link the airport to Monaco, and trains run from Nice to Monaco station. These are the cheapest options, but they take longer, sometimes involve a change, and are impractical with several suitcases.

4. Helicopter

Helicopter shuttles link Nice Airport to the Monaco heliport in a few minutes. It is the fastest option but also the most expensive, and it depends on the weather. You often still need a driver between the heliport and your hotel.
